We’ve got two gigs practically back-to-back this week, both outside!

Today, Saturday, Sept. 25, we get to return to Brigham City’s Farmers Market to help them close out their season. We’re looking forward to hanging out under the big shade tree on a perfect first weekend of fall.

And Tuesday, Sept. 28, we return to UTOG to play out on their patio from 6-8p. When we’ve played there before we’ve really like the setup and the sound. It doesn’t hurt that people can sit on patio tables and drink beer.

“local jazzy favorites”

Our gig calendar has been packed lately, ranging from guest spots on our favorite podcast to a big gala to late-night bars gigs. Tomorrow we happen to be playing two different gigs–five hours of music!–including the Monarch Market that gave us this quick plug in the local paper. We’re promoted as “local jazzy favorites,” a description we quite like.

You can find us there playing in the open spaces between artists and vendors from 11:30a – 1:30p (free, all ages). Then, later on Saturday night, catch us on the stage at the Lighthouse Lounge (21+, $5 cover) from 9:00p – Midnight+. Your local jazzy favorites will be happy to see you at either–or both!

Ogden Pride

We had a really fun time playing Ogden Pride. We enjoyed everything from the love, joy, and rainbows all around the festival to our deluxe green room backstage.

But our favorite part was being onstage for an hour, playing songs about the blue skies and love.

Thanks to Mark Seawell for the photo! Ian is back there at the drums, we promise.

It was especially great as we looked out to see people singing along, knowing all the words, even all the verses of Come Together and I Will Survive. I swear I even saw someone singing along to Blue Skies, one of our more obscure jazz standards. We didn’t think it could get any better until we looked up to see the dancing:

Thanks to Karyn Johnston for capturing this.

Already looking forward to playing at the Ogden Amphitheater and for Ogden Pride again!

August lineup

We’ve been rehearsing and getting ready for a busy August! This includes:

  • Ogden Pride festival: Sunday, August 1. We’re on stage from 4-5p at the Ogden Amphitheater. See http://www.ogdenpride.org for details and lineup as it’s announced.
  • Ogden Eccles Art Center Summer Art Fair, August 14 (11-Noon) and August 28 (Noon-1:00). See https://ogden4arts.org/events/2021-summer-art-fair.html for event details for the entire summer.
  • Children’s Justice Center 2021 Gala, August 28 at 6:00p. Get tickets here for this great cause and music, food, and a roarin’ 20s theme.
  • and more to come. September will also bring returns to Van Sessions and Lighthouse Lounge. Stay tuned or check the calendar for things as we add them. Hope to see you there!

summer gigs so far

We’re excited to let you know that we’re stepping back onto the stage this Saturday (6/19) night at the Lighthouse Lounge in Ogden! It’s been a while, but we’re feeling good about being a fully vaccinated band playing full sets for friends new and old. Here’s what we have coming up in the next couple of months, so far. (For up-to-date gigs and announcements, check back here at the blog or follow us on the antisocial media outlets.)

Lighthouse Lounge, 6/19, 9:30 – Midnight. 21+.
Returning to the Pabst Blue Ribbon stage will be a great celebration after a long 15 months since our last live, public gig.

Ogden Pride Festival, 8/1, time TBD.
We’re super excited to play the Ogden Amphitheater for as long as Ogden Pride lets us to support this community event.

Eccles Arts Fair, 8/14, 11:00a-Noon
We get to busk outside among the artists!

Eccles Arts Fair, 8/28, Noon-1:00p
We get to busk outside among the artists, again! This will be a good warm-up for …

Children’s Justice Center 2021 Starry Night gala: “Ogden’s Roarin’ 20s”, Eccles Conference Center, Ogden; 8/28
We’ve become quick fans of the CJC and their mission, so we’re delighted to get to support this fundraiser by playing during their gala. You should get tickets, listen to our music, enjoy a dinner, and bid on silent auction items to support their cause.

Van Sessions, 9/3, 7:00 – 8:00p
This will be our third live recording session on Van Sessions. We love these guys, the conversation, and the chance to play and record live at The Monarch.

We have more in the works. Want to make sure of it? Let us know when we can come play in your driveway, your wedding, or another special event. Most important: Get a vaccine and go enjoy some live music! Hope to see you out on the town soon.
