“What kind of band are you?” This is a hard question. Generally speaking, we work on songs until they feel right, like “us,” but this isn’t helpful if you’re anyone but us. The shortest answer we’ve thought of is:
We like playing jazz standards and our own jazz takes on everything else.
That’s actually one of the reasons for our band’s name, Standards & Substandards, but that might not clear everything up. So here’s a partial catalog of songs we cover just to give you a sense of scope. You’ll likely hear a lot of these at a given gig.
